A one-of-a-kind creation born of exploration, craft, and vision. This carpet emerges from a unique collaboration across three worlds — between Magellan Deep Sea Recovery, Jan Kath, and Maison WeCraft.
Hand-knotted in highland Tibetan wool and silk recovered from the deep sea, more than 5,000 metres below sea level, the fibres were preserved for decades under extreme pressure before being brought carefully back to the surface.
These extraordinary silk fibres, once survival cargo, have been transformed into a cartography of earth and ocean, rendered through the elegant Winkel Tripel projection to map the world with precision, beauty, and depth.
Each thread carries the story of fragility, endurance, and history itself — bridging exploration, art, and craftsmanship in a singular, unparalleled masterpiece.
